Perhaps you can keep aside your plans of visiting Port Arthur or Kunanyi or Go farther to cradle mountain or Bruny island to have a refreshing weekend and allow us to hand you over the new itinerary.

  1. Orford

A small town located 70km north of Hobart is famous for its fishing hotspots. Situated at the mouth of Prosser river, it serves the spectacular views of Maria island making it a perfect base to start your exploration of island and its surrounding marine reserve. Orford is also home for many pristine beaches and the sandbars on Orford beach sure reminds you of the floating stone bridge between India and Srilanka.

2. Compass Hut

The compass hut was established on the concept of self-sufficiency and is best suited for solo travelers or couples, who likes to disconnect and retrospect. It influences calm, inner engineering and simplicity. This small living space is located in North-west Tasmania on an organic farm closer to many beautiful tourist destinations. It is definitely a unique part of Tasmanian experience.

3. The Moai

If you love adventures and is an experienced rock climber, The Moai rock climbing can be your go-to spot. Needless to say, it is exhilarating and requires a lot of planning but the experience is in comparison to none. It is located at Fortescue Bay, an hour drive from Hobart.

A ninety minute hike on the Waterfall Valley track takes you to one of the Tasmania’s unique rock towers protruding from the sea.

4. The Kingston Beach

A place often taken for granted due its easy accessibility. Kingston beach is merely a 15-minute drive from Hobart and is a great place for families and dog parents. Its location makes it ideal to blow off steam on the weekdays or just grab a quick bite by the beach side.

Set your inner child free and fly higher at the dreamy swings placed right on the beach.
